Welcome to the official website of the World Ju-Jitsu Kobudo Organisation GB – the recognised representative body for Ju-Jitsu in Great Britain, part of the WJJKO under Shike Bertoletti. We are proud to be a small organisation supporting and promoting the practice of safe, high-quality Ju-Jitsu, guided by strong standards, dedicated leadership, and a community-focused ethos. Our mission is to preserve the traditional values of Ju-Jitsu and Kobudo while encouraging growth, inclusion, and excellence across all levels of practice.

WJJKO GB
The WJJKO GB was founded in 2008 by the late So Shihan David Flaherty MBE, 9th Dan, to represent the World Ju-Jitsu Kobudo Organisation (WJJKO) in Great Britain. With over 50 years of experience, So Shihan Flaherty brought a wealth of knowledge to the organisation, having established his first club — Mid Cheshire Budo Club — more than five decades ago. To this day, we proudly uphold the same ethos he instilled: supporting coaches, members, volunteers, and small clubs, while promoting an inclusive environment where individuals of all ages and abilities can learn and grow. Our syllabus combines traditional Japanese Ju-Jitsu with practical self-defense techniques, helping students develop valuable life skills through martial arts training.
